Description
Art Text is graphic design software to create stunning illustrations, such as badges, flyers, logos, social headers and icons, text mockups, website graphics and buttons, picture captions, word art, and 3D text. Both professional designers and amateurs will be amazed by the selection of tools and diverse content collections, all in a slick and intuitive interface.
• Customizable Templates – Ready-made templates will help with logo design, produce beautiful word art, web elements and picture captions.
• Fill Tools – Gradient presets, textures, and shading materials.
• 2D Effects – Adjustable shadow and glow effects, over 30 masks.
• Graphic Content – Vector icons, symbols and shapes; flash, flare, sparkle, and light trace objects; and backgrounds and textures.
• 3D Materials – Customize 3D materials using textures, bump map surfaces, and environment map textures.
• 3D Effects – Apply soft-edged shadow or glow to 3D objects. Use optical effect tools to make background objects out of focus.
• Geometry Transformations – Apply transformation shapes to 2D or 3D texts to bend, warp, or give the text a wavy shape.
• Sharing the Result – Share the art on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram with just one click, or export to an image file to use virtually anywhere.

Editor-checked details
Recommended for social teams, video creators, podcast/stream cover makers, teachers and small businesses producing short titles, logo concepts, thumbnails, poster headings, presentation covers and intro graphics quickly. Use: lock size/platform safe area; choose licensed fonts; establish a readable plain-text baseline; add 2D/3D/material effects on a duplicate; inspect on dark/light backgrounds and at small size; use AI only for nonconfidential exploration with provenance; test a short animation for fps, endpoints and clipping; validate PNG/video in the destination; archive native source, font/asset manifest and open deliverables. For logos, create a black/white base and treat elaborate materials as campaign variants; rebuild registrable work in Affinity Designer/Illustrator/Amadine and conduct trademark clearance. Compare Swift Publisher for page layout, Logoist for quick logo effects, Pixelmator Pro for raster compositing and Affinity Designer for professional vectors. Never deliver suspicious AI text/shapes directly or upload confidential client assets.
Pros
- It focuses on turning type into a deliverable visual quickly. Metallic, glass, neon, plastic, extruded, glowing, distorted and textured titles are faster than building every effect in general raster/vector tools, suiting social covers, video intros, poster headings, logo concepts and presentation covers. Stackable 2D/3D effects, materials, lighting, transforms and presets remain editable in native documents; custom shapes/layers extend beyond plain text. Animation keyframes, preview and templates serve iMovie, Shorts/Reels and Keynote title workflows. Design Gallery search and content sets accelerate style exploration, while AI Wizard/Remove Background assist concepts and asset preparation. Native Apple-silicon plus Intel support covers many Macs, and a free core with optional purchases lets occasional users validate the workflow first. It saves creators from manually constructing material, bump, lighting and typography chains and integrates well with Swift Publisher for lightweight DTP headings.
Cons
- It is a title/effects tool, not a complete brand, typeface, long-layout, professional vector illustration, photo-compositing or prepress system. Complex logos should be rebuilt in a vector tool with controlled grids, nodes, spacing and monochrome variants. Many looks depend on raster textures, shadows and rendering and may not suit scaling, spot color, CMYK, cutters or accessibility; visual 3D is not a manufacturable 3D model. Templates/sets can produce generic similarity, and cumulative purchases may exceed expectations; asset licenses, commercial font rights and AI-output terms need project-level review. Generative AI can create bad text, style/trademark similarity, changing service terms, credit and network dependency, so it never replaces original design or legal clearance. Official UI languages exclude Chinese/Korean, and CJK quality depends on installed fonts. Animation is for short titles; complex timelines, audio sync, captions and compositing belong in video software. Native-format collaboration is limited, requiring open PNG/video deliverables, and missing fonts change layout.
Installation steps
- The current Mac App Store build of Art Text 4.5.10 requires macOS 10.13+; the developer confirms Art Text 4 runs natively on Apple silicon and it also supports Intel. After installation, restore the correct App Store entitlement and purchased content sets—purchases do not automatically cross accounts/stores. Build a proof with CJK/Latin, variable fonts, multiple weights, emoji, transparent background, overlong headings and small text; test 2D fill/stroke/shadow/glow, Shading Materials, 3D geometry/lighting, transforms, masks, textures and animation. For trademarks/client work, use commercially licensed fonts, textures and templates and record provenance; built-in or purchased assets are not automatically resellable as standalone content. Test AI Wizard/generative features with nonconfidential copies, remove client data, unreleased logos and personal information before upload, and retain prompts, source image, generation date and human edits. Lock canvas pixels/aspect/background before export. Use PNG for alpha, render a short animation proof first, and separately test high-resolution or vector-compatible output for print titles.
Uninstallation steps
- Before removal, save every important design in the native editable format and export transparent PNG, composited PNG/JPEG, required animation/video and a high-resolution still; raster deliverables do not replace sources. Package font name/version/license, imported imagery, logos, textures, backgrounds, light effects, custom shapes, 2D/3D materials, color values, canvas size, frame rate/duration and export settings. For AI work, retain prompts, sources, outputs, background-removed derivatives, generation date, service/model note and human selection/edit history rather than online history alone. Back up My Designs, purchased sets and custom content separately. The official removal guidance warns that Application Support/containers can hold user 2D/3D materials and custom shapes, so do not treat them as cache. Open a native file under another account and regenerate an alpha image and short animation before deleting the app. Archive purchase receipts/account details separately.
Common errors and fixes
- Font substitution/spacing changes after migration require the exact font version plus checks for variable axes, OpenType and missing-glyph fallback. Retain a font manifest and final outlined/raster proof, but preserve editable text. Black/white halos around transparent PNG require a truly transparent canvas, enough bounds for shadows/glow, correct premultiplied alpha and testing on dark/light backgrounds in the destination app. Shading Material seams, scale or highlights need seamless textures and checks of scale, angle, bump, light and object size; an earlier editor fix exists, but no new material-specific detail is published for 4.5.10. For jagged/slow 3D, render larger then downsample, reduce bevel/detail, lights, reflections and animation resolution, and export a short proof. Loop jumps or clipping require canvas bounds, keyframes, easing, first/last state, fps, duration and codec checks in the real iMovie/Keynote/social workflow. For failed AI/credits, verify network, login, purchased bundle and input spec, avoid repeated submissions, retain time/prompt and contact support. AI text errors or trademark similarity require human redraw, clearance and legal review, never direct logo use. Missing sets require the same App Store account and Restore Purchases, not overwriting containers from unknown sources.
What changed in this version
- The official 4.5.10 announcement says only “minor technical improvements,” with no itemized bug IDs or feature list, so no more specific fix is invented. It continues the 4.5 branch: a free app with optional in-app content/features; search in the Design Gallery; AI Wizard image generation/processing including Remove Background workflows; PNG preference for generative output with transparent backgrounds; text animation with keyframes, preview and templates; 2D Fill, Stroke, Shadow, Glow, Shading Materials, textures and transformations; and 3D geometry, materials, bump, color and lighting. The current App Store minimum is macOS 10.13; Art Text 4 runs natively on Apple silicon and supports Intel. The officially listed interface languages are English, German, Spanish, French and Japanese. The five localized editorial pages must not be confused with five-language support inside the app.
