Complex paths, exact CMYK/spot colour, automated contents, long text flow and team review need other tools. Many high-resolution photos, filters, transparency and pages increase memory, save and PDF time; the 1–2 GB specification suits light work only. Built-ins accelerate starts but look generic without customisation, and commercial work needs asset/font licence checks. EPUB/CBZ spreads, scaling and order vary by reader. Installation steps

- Before removal, preserve independent .comiclife archives and export print PDF, screen PDF, EPUB, CBZ and page PNG/JPEG; proof key pages on another device or printer. Collect uncropped originals, fonts, templates, textures, palettes, scripts and copyright/model releases. Record page dimensions, resolution, facing-page mode, colour and export settings; create a manifest and SHA-256. Check overflow, font substitution, transparency, page order, cover and spreads in Preview, a browser or ebook reader. Confirm serial/account recovery, back up user templates/preferences, then remove the app. Photos-library references and recent projects are not asset backups.
Common errors and fixes
- If Photos is empty, grant access in macOS privacy settings or export originals into the project folder. For missing fonts, reflow or balloon overflow, install matching fonts, inspect substitutions/language glyphs and proof every page; outline only critical headings in a delivery copy. For blurry/huge PDFs, separate screen/print presets, inspect source pixels, scaling, filters and compression, and avoid repeated JPEG saves. For EPUB/CBZ order, cover or spread problems, use a fixed single-page reading order and test the target reader. White Instant Alpha edges need higher-resolution sources and lower tolerance. Print cropping requires paper, orientation, bleed, duplex flip and AirPrint range checks. On crashes duplicate the document, remove suspect fonts/huge images and isolate pages.
