소개
Glyphs 3은 Mac용 폰트 편집기로, 사용자에게 완전한 제어 권한을 제공합니다: 고정밀 벡터 그래픽을 신속하게 그리고, 모양을 효율적으로 재사용하며, 무수히 많은 문자, 숫자, 기호를 쉽게 관리할 수 있습니다. Mac에서 폰트를 생성·편집·관리하기; 단어 문맥 속에서 글자 형태 디자인하기; Mac에서 레터링을 페인팅 및 내보내기; 고성능 벡터 도구로 모양을 정교하게 다듬기; Mac에서 반응형 아이콘 디자인하기; 기호의 여러 변형을 관리 및 내보내기.

장점
- glyph drawing, component reuse, spacing/kerning, OpenType, Multiple Master, instance, Variable Font를 font-aware Mac workflow에 통합합니다. word context, anchor/component, brace/bracket/intermediate layer, axis/STAT/custom parameter/feature automation이 multilingual/static/variable production을 지원합니다. Color Font, icon, Python API, script/plugin으로 확장하며 text-based .glyphs, .glyphspackage/UFO는 version control/team에 적합하고 naming/hinting/OpenType/complex script 자료도 풍부합니다.
단점
- font editor이며 layout/illustration/text renderer가 아니므로 browser, Adobe, Office, CoreText/DirectWrite에서 외부 test가 필요합니다. interpolation은 strict master compatibility가 필요해 작은 node/component/start-point 차이가 failure/kink를 만듭니다. OpenType, Unicode, name table, vertical metrics, hinting, STAT/avar, menu rule에는 표준 지식이 필요합니다. plugin/script API, old Intel/Rosetta, future macOS, provenance/license/language review를 주의해야 합니다. installed OTF/TTF만으로는 source data를 잃습니다.
설치 방법
- 게시판 3.5는 Intel 64-bit, macOS 10.11+이며 Apple silicon에서는 Rosetta 2 앱으로 검증합니다. .glyphs/.glyphspackage, UFO, sketch, Feature/Class/Prefix, instance, axis, custom parameter, plugin, script, license를 백업합니다. UPM, vertical metrics, name, Unicode, glyph set, master/axis를 고정하고 node count, path direction, start point, component, shape order compatibility를 확인합니다. OTF/TTF/Variable Font를 내보내 STAT/fvar/name, OpenType, kerning, metrics, hinting, webfont를 검증하며 plugin/Python은 3.5 호환을 개별 확인합니다.
제거 방법
- 제거 전 .glyphs와 .glyphspackage/UFO, 모든 master/layer/background/component/feature/class/kerning/axis/instance/VF setting을 저장합니다. OTF/TTF/WOFF/WOFF2, PDF/HTML proof, Fontbakery/FontTools log, specimen, version, license/source, plugin/script를 보관합니다. exact build, UPM, vertical metrics, glyph set, OpenType table, axis tag/coordinate, default master, export, manifest/SHA-256을 기록하고 macOS/Windows/browser/target app에서 install, menu, kerning, feature, diacritic, fallback, axis, print를 확인합니다. installed font는 source backup이 아닙니다.
자주 발생하는 오류와 해결 방법
- interpolation incompatible는 Show Master Compatibility로 path/component count, node type, direction, start point, shape order를 맞춥니다. variable glyph static/kink는 browser/FontTools, default master, axis mapping, brace/bracket, component/outline을 확인합니다. export failure는 Macro에서 duplicate glyph, empty/open path, feature code, Unicode/name, parameter/instance를 찾습니다. kerning은 group/pair/GPOS, menu conflict는 family/style/linking/PS name/version/VF family, diacritic은 anchor를 확인합니다. plugin crash는 safe start/API를 점검하며 3.5는 active-tool Python access를 수정합니다.
이번 버전 변경 사항
- 는 Traditional Chinese Help search, Python active tool access, “Disable Masters” interpolation 세 가지를 수정합니다. UI discoverability, script/plugin automation, multi-master/instance export consistency에 관련됩니다. Multiple Master, Variable Font, OpenType, Kerning, Color Font, component, Python/plugin, OTF/TTF/webfont는 Glyphs 3 generation feature이며 3.5 신규 기능이 아닙니다. upgrade 후 동일 source에서 static/variable을 내보내 outline, axis, table, validation log를 비교합니다.
