概要
Glyphs 3 は Mac 向フォントエディタで、ユーザーに完全なコントロールを提供します：高精度ベクターグラフィックスを素早く描画し、シェイプを効率よく再利用し、任意数の文字、数字、記号を簡単に管理できます。Mac 上でフォントを構築・編集・管理；単語の文脈で文字の形状をデザイン；Mac 上でレタリングをペイントおよびエクスポート；ハイエンドのベクターツールでシェイプを精密に調整；Mac 上でレスポンシブアイコンをデザイン；シンボルの複数バリエーションを管理・エクスポート。
バージョン 3.5 の新機能：
• 繁体中国語ローカライズにおける「ヘルプ」メニュー内の検索項目の不具合を修正
• Python によるアクティブツールへのアクセスを更新
• 「マスターディザブル」パラメータにおける補間処理を改善

長所
- glyph drawing、component reuse、spacing/kerning、OpenType、Multiple Master、instance、Variable Font を font-aware Mac workflow に統合します。word context、anchor/component、brace/bracket/intermediate layer、axis/STAT/custom parameter/feature automation が multilingual/static/variable production を支えます。Color Font、icon、Python API、script/plugin で拡張でき、text-based .glyphs、.glyphspackage/UFO は version control/team に向き、naming/hinting/OpenType/complex script の資料も豊富です。
短所
- font editor で layout/illustration/text renderer ではなく browser、Adobe、Office、CoreText/DirectWrite で外部 test が必要です。interpolation は strict master compatibility が必要で小さな node/component/start-point 差が failure/kink を生みます。OpenType、Unicode、name table、vertical metrics、hinting、STAT/avar、menu rule は標準知識が必要。plugin/script API、old Intel/Rosetta、future macOS、provenance/license/language review に注意。installed OTF/TTF だけでは source data を失います。
インストール手順
- 掲載版 3.5 は Intel 64-bit、macOS 10.11+ で、Apple silicon は Rosetta 2 app として検証します。.glyphs/.glyphspackage、UFO、sketch、Feature/Class/Prefix、instance、axis、custom parameter、plugin、script、license を保存。UPM、vertical metrics、name、Unicode、glyph set、master/axis を固定し、node count、path direction、start point、component、shape order の compatibility を確認します。OTF/TTF/Variable Font を出力し STAT/fvar/name、OpenType、kerning、metrics、hinting、webfont を検証。plugin/Python は 3.5 個別確認します。
アンインストール手順
- 削除前に .glyphs と .glyphspackage/UFO、全 master/layer/background/component/feature/class/kerning/axis/instance/VF setting を保存します。OTF/TTF/WOFF/WOFF2、PDF/HTML proof、Fontbakery/FontTools log、specimen、version、license/source、plugin/script を archive。exact build、UPM、vertical metrics、glyph set、OpenType table、axis tag/coordinate、default master、export、manifest/SHA-256 を記録し macOS/Windows/browser/target app で install、menu、kerning、feature、diacritic、fallback、axis、print を確認します。installed font は source backup ではありません。
よくあるエラーと解決策
- interpolation incompatible は Show Master Compatibility で path/component count、node type、direction、start point、shape order を揃えます。variable glyph static/kink は browser/FontTools、default master、axis mapping、brace/bracket、component/outline を確認。export failure は Macro で duplicate glyph、empty/open path、feature code、Unicode/name、parameter/instance。kerning は group/pair/GPOS、menu conflict は family/style/linking/PS name/version/VF family、diacritic は anchor。plugin crash は safe start/API、3.5 は active-tool Python access を修正します。
