PDFify is application for automatic text recognition (OCR) created searchable and paged PDF out your images and scans.
Use your scanner or camera to add new pages to PDF documents.
Drag emails or webpages on PDFify to create paged PDF files which are perfect for app store invoices.

WHAT’S NEW
Version 5.2:
• Completely redesigned scanner dialog (macOS 14 and later): Pick source, color mode, resolution, and duplex right in the window, run a preview, and drag to select the scan area. A compact view gets you scanning fast; a detailed view shows the preview and all settings side by side. Older systems keep the classic macOS scan interface.
Choose where each scan goes with a single checkbox: Keep it off for a new document every time, or turn it on to append to the document you’re working on. Set the scan area exactly: Drag in the preview, enter precise measurements in millimeters or inches, or pick a preset like DIN A4 or US Letter – remembered per scanner.
• Automate PDFify with App Shortcuts: Compress a PDF, make it searchable with OCR, convert it to PDF/A, get its text, or export text as JSON – straight from Spotlight, the Shortcuts app, or Siri, without opening the app.
• See PDF/A status at a glance: The status bar shows right away whether the open document is PDF/A (for example “PDF/A-1b”).

不足
- OCR 不是權威原文，低解析度、歪斜、複雜版面、表格、多語及手寫會降低準確率。PDF/A 仍須獨立驗證且不是保存制度。壓縮可能傷害小字、細線、印章及照片；它也不是處理複雜表單、簽章、結構 tag、精細版面或逐字 OCR 修訂的完整編輯器。覆寫式批次會放大錯誤，敏感檔案須管理權限、備份及保存期限。
安裝步驟
- 站內 PDFify 5.2 需求為 macOS 10.14 以上及 64 位元，Apple silicon 相容路徑自 3.3.2 起提供。先備份原始掃描/PDF，於 Image Capture 確認 scanner、ScanSnap 或接續互通相機，核對來源及 SHA-256。放入「應用程式」且只授予必要檔案、相機、掃描器及捷徑權限。以含中英文字、數字、表格、歪斜、低對比及手寫註記的副本比較 Apple Vision/Tesseract，固定語言、DPI、色彩與方向。macOS 14+ 新掃描視窗可選來源、色彩、解析度、雙面、預覽及 mm/inch 區域，舊系統使用經典介面。確認新建/追加後測試影像、郵件、網頁、截圖及多頁 TIFF。輸出可搜尋 PDF、PDF/A、壓縮版、文字、JSON，逐頁查欄位並檢查頁序、旋轉、裁切、註記、連結、字型及文字層對位。Quick Actions/Shortcuts 先用副本驗證覆寫、命名及錯誤。
解除安裝步驟
- 封存原始影像、未壓縮 master PDF、可搜尋 PDF、PDF/A、文字/JSON、OCR 語言/引擎、scanner/DPI/雙面/裁切、捷徑、manifest 及 SHA-256。抽查多語、表格及註記頁，在 Preview 與獨立 PDF/A validator 確認開啟、搜尋、複製、列印、註記與書籤。停用 Finder Quick Actions、App Shortcuts、ScanSnap 目的地及權限，確認無佇列/未存工作再移除。設定不需保留才清支援檔。卸載不是保存策略，PDF/A 標示也不證明內容準確；驗收前保留安裝檔及 rollback。
常見錯誤及解決方法
- OCR 搜不到或亂碼時檢查方向、語言、Apple Vision/Tesseract、約 300 DPI、歪斜、陰影及對比；混合文字、表格、收據、手寫與裝飾字須人工抽查。文字層錯位時避免 OCR 後再裁切/旋轉，從原圖副本重做。掃描器未出現先在 Image Capture 查 driver、USB/網路、權限及占用，ScanSnap 也要核對目的地。雙面頁序查進紙、長/短邊、追加開關與範圍。Finder/Shortcut 失敗查 extension、權限、輸入、輸出、空間及覆寫。純文字可試灰階/黑白壓縮，但照片/細線保留彩色 master。PDF/A 失敗查字型、加密、註記、透明及損壞 object，並以獨立 validator 驗證。
