概要
PDFify is application for automatic text recognition (OCR) created searchable and paged PDF out your images and scans.
Use your scanner or camera to add new pages to PDF documents.
Drag emails or webpages on PDFify to create paged PDF files which are perfect for app store invoices.
Drag everything on the PDF window to append it to the current document and apply text recognition if required.
WHAT’S NEW
Version 5.2:
• Completely redesigned scanner dialog (macOS 14 and later): Pick source, color mode, resolution, and duplex right in the window, run a preview, and drag to select the scan area. A compact view gets you scanning fast; a detailed view shows the preview and all settings side by side. Older systems keep the classic macOS scan interface.
Choose where each scan goes with a single checkbox: Keep it off for a new document every time, or turn it on to append to the document you’re working on. Set the scan area exactly: Drag in the preview, enter precise measurements in millimeters or inches, or pick a preset like DIN A4 or US Letter – remembered per scanner.
• Automate PDFify with App Shortcuts: Compress a PDF, make it searchable with OCR, convert it to PDF/A, get its text, or export text as JSON – straight from Spotlight, the Shortcuts app, or Siri, without opening the app.
• See PDF/A status at a glance: The status bar shows right away whether the open document is PDF/A (for example “PDF/A-1b”).
• Fit imported images into more page

長所
- scanner、画像、mail、web、screenshot を一つの drag-and-drop 流程にまとめ、searchable PDF、PDF/A、圧縮、text、JSON を作れます。Apple Vision/Tesseract の選択、Finder Quick Actions、5.2 App Shortcuts は反復処理に便利です。duplex、範囲、用紙、PDF/A 状態、圧縮 preset も日常保存に有効です。
短所
- OCR は原文保証ではなく、低解像度、傾き、複雑組版、表、多言語、手書きで精度が落ちます。PDF/A は独立検証が必要で保存制度の代替ではありません。圧縮は小字、細線、印、写真を損なえます。複雑な form、署名、tag、精密 layout/OCR 修正を行う完全 editor ではありません。上書き batch は誤りを拡大するため、機密資料は権限/backup/保存期間も管理します。
インストール手順
- 掲載版 PDFify 5.2 は macOS 10.14 以降・64-bit 対応で、Apple silicon 対応経路は 3.3.2 以降です。原本を保存し、scanner/ScanSnap/Continuity Camera を Image Capture で確認、配布元と SHA-256 を検証します。Applications に置き必要な権限だけ許可します。漢字/英字/数字/表/傾き/低コントラスト/手書き注記を含むコピーで Apple Vision と Tesseract を比較し、言語、DPI、色、向きを固定します。macOS 14+ の新 scanner 画面では source、色、解像度、duplex、preview、mm/inch 範囲を指定し、旧 OS は従来画面です。新規/追加を確認し、画像、mail、web、screenshot、multi-page TIFF を試します。searchable PDF、PDF/A、圧縮、text、JSON を出力し、頁順、回転、crop、注記、link、font、text layer の位置を点検します。Quick Actions/Shortcuts はコピーで上書き・命名・エラーを検証してから使います。
アンインストール手順
- 原画像、非圧縮 master、searchable PDF、PDF/A、text/JSON、OCR 言語/engine、scanner/DPI/duplex/crop、Shortcut、manifest、SHA-256 を保存します。複数言語、表、注記頁を Preview と独立 PDF/A validator で開き、検索、copy、print、注記/bookmark を確認します。Finder Quick Actions、App Shortcuts、ScanSnap 宛先、権限を解除し、未保存処理がないことを確認後削除します。設定不要時のみ関連データを消します。削除は保存方針の代替ではなく、PDF/A 表示も内容精度を証明しません。受入まで installer、設定、rollback を保持します。
よくあるエラーと解決策
- OCR 不良は向き、言語、Apple Vision/Tesseract、約300 DPI、傾き、影、contrast を確認します。混在文字、表、receipt、手書き、装飾字体は人が抽出校正します。text layer ずれは OCR 後の crop/回転を避け、原画像から再処理します。scanner 不在は Image Capture で driver、USB/network、権限、競合を確認し、ScanSnap の宛先も確認します。duplex 順は給紙、長/短辺、append、scan area を見直します。Finder/Shortcut は extension、権限、入力、出力、空き容量、上書きを確認します。文字は grayscale/B&W 圧縮を試し、写真/細線は colour master を保持。PDF/A は font、暗号、注記、透明、破損 object を調べ、独立 validator を使います。
