Workflow: reserve 100 GB; confirm IOI account/content ownership; back up settings/saves and record 3.270.1/SHA-256; run training low; sync a small map online; test Agency Pickup/save; raise textures gradually; enter Freelancer only when servers are stable. Compare Dying Light for direct open-world action or Total War for tactical strategy, noting very different play and separate Mac requirements.

- Each location is a replayable assassination sandbox where disguises, routes, NPC schedules, environmental systems and mission stories create many solutions. HITMAN 1–3 campaigns, challenges, escalations, Elusive Target Arcade and Freelancer provide exceptional longevity, while mastery unlocks reward new routes. Stealth rules are readable but accidents, sniping, poison and chaos remain viable. The Apple-silicon version preserves full large-map play, with M3 Pro recommended for higher quality. English, Simplified/Traditional Chinese and Japanese interface/subtitles are official.
Cons
- Mac requirements are steep: macOS 15.5, Apple processor and 16 GB minimum; 8-GB M1 and every Intel Mac fall outside official requirements. The 80-GB install needs update headroom. Many challenges, mastery, Freelancer and live items rely on IOI servers, limiting offline play/unlocks; maintenance or Mac patch delay affects progress. Editions/DLC are complex and can leave maps, items or save requirements missing. Mastery repetition may become mechanical and Freelancer failure is punitive. Frequent violence/gore, drugs, crime and suicide are mature themes. Korean is not in the official language list.
Installation steps
- This page covers HITMAN World of Assassination 3.270.1. Current official Mac minimum is macOS 15.5, Apple M1, 16 GB RAM and 80 GB storage; recommended is M3 Pro, 18 GB and 80 GB. Intel Macs are unsupported. Reserve 100 GB for updates. Back up local saves/settings, controller mappings and records of challenge/Freelancer progress; confirm IOI-account linking and record 3.270.1/SHA-256. First run the training mission and a small map at defaults, testing disguises, save/load, challenge sync, Agency Pickup, online services and controller, then raise texture/resolution gradually. Supported Mac hardware gained Medium/High textures in the 3.270 line, but base M1 should begin low.
Uninstallation steps
- Before uninstalling, finish the mission, return to the main menu, wait for online challenge/Freelancer synchronization, then quit normally. Back up local saves, settings, bindings and screenshots; record 3.270.1, mission, challenges, mastery, Freelancer state, IOI account and SHA-256. Many unlocks/challenges rely on server data: screenshots help auditing but do not replace account sync. Test an offline local load. After reinstalling, use the same IOI account and default settings for training, confirm servers/content ownership, then restore settings/saves. Preserve a local copy during sync conflict and never repeatedly overwrite during network failure.
Common errors and fixes
- Launch failure or low FPS: confirm macOS 15.5, 16 GB, 80 GB and SHA-256; on base M1 lower resolution, textures, shadows and crowd density and close background apps. Offline/challenges not registering: check IOI servers/account. Parts of story work offline, but challenges, mastery, Freelancer and live content rely on online services. 3.270.1 fixes server errors from Agency Pickup/Hidden Stash items, permanently blocked sliding doors after oil/water, legal poison flagged illegal, and Classic All-Black Suit spawning wrong. Wizard goals/rewards, Bio Suit seams, subtitles and suit clipping are also corrected. Mac patches may trail other platforms; wait for matching versions. Intel cannot be made supported through settings.
What changed in this version
- Version 3.270.1 is the official Season of The Wizard hotfix for issues introduced by 3.270.0. It removes Disruptor from an incorrectly blocking Arcade tracker; corrects Wizard ET rewards, Twitch drop, Classic All-Black Suit, Sapienza escort routing, Hokkaido poisoned-NPC routing, sliding doors, Agency Pickup server errors and poison legality; and fixes Wizard fail conditions, subtitles, blood, model/suit clipping, DLC messaging and IOI-account rewards. It also fixes Intel Arc GPU-hang crashes and includes the Colorado water-tower pipe and bananas on more maps. Only 3.270.1 is covered.
