Installation steps
- Open the DMG, drag PDFelement to Applications, and launch it there. Sign in with the Wondershare ID used for purchase; a Mac license does not automatically cover Windows or mobile editions.
- For scanned PDFs, install OCR from Tools → OCR or Settings → Plugin and select the document's actual language. Work on a copy before signing, form editing, batch replacement or handling sensitive documents.
Uninstallation steps
- Before uninstalling, save unfinished PDFs elsewhere, export needed signatures, stamps, form templates and settings, and confirm cloud files are synced. Quit and move PDFelement from Applications to Trash.
- For a clean reinstall, preserve user data before following support instructions for caches and preferences. Never remove working documents or the only copy of a digital certificate.
Common errors and fixes
- Scanned PDF cannot be edited: it contains an image layer, so run OCR with the correct language and page range.
- OCR download fails: confirm Pro entitlement, network and free space, then retry from Settings → Plugin. Wondershare also provides a full installer with OCR; contact support if it still fails.
- Still in trial after purchase: install the correct Mac build from the order email and sign in with the Wondershare ID tied to the purchase email.
- Watermarks or three-page conversion limits are trial restrictions. Never overwrite the original; reopen and save a clean copy after activation. Review fonts, forms, signatures and layout page by page after complex edits.
