Description
Mini Airways is a real-time management game with an air traffic control theme. You will play as a busy air traffic controller in the game: directing planes to take off and land, clearing air traffic, upgrading airspace …… And most of all, don’t let them crash!
Fast-paced, real-time ATC gameplay: Manage airspace, clear planes for takeoff and landing, and avoid near misses! In addition to the normal arrangement of takeoffs and landings, you also need to face the challenges of mountains, no-fly zones, and peak landing hours, so please concentrate!
Every time you finish one day’s management, you will be able to pick an upgrade for your airspace and airport: auto holding, accelerating turns, increasing airspace, waypoints …… upgrade and customize airports to keep flights running more smoothly.
Test your skills in iconic locations like London, Tokyo, San Francisco, Amsterdam, and 15 other new maps!
Encounter unexpected events like the Hudson River Miracle, Air Force One, VIP flights, and handle them.
Choose from Casual, Hardcore, or Sandbox modes based on your preference.
Currently support altitude mods (check it out on our Discord community).

Editor-checked details
Recommended for players who like Mini Metro/112 Operator-style clarity but want approach sequencing, conflict prediction and real-time teamwork; use a harder simulator for professional procedures. Start with Classic London and fixed rules: landing priority, clear thresholds, one aircraft per crossing and long routes away from approach sectors. Pick upgrades for the current bottleneck, then move to Hardcore; use Sandbox for maximum-density tests. Two GB is the floor, while four-player sessions benefit from more memory and stable broadband; both Intel/Apple are supported. Safe order: dual backup; 1.2.8/SHA-256; Classic day; Hardcore; Sandbox; clean co-op; restore Workshop.
Pros
- It abstracts ATC into readable routes, speed, turns, holds and runway decisions: quick to understand, but peaks demand sequencing and spatial prediction. Random daily upgrades create different solutions on one map. Nineteen real-airport airspaces, mountains, no-fly zones and special events vary locations. Classic permits learning pauses, Hardcore removes pause, and Sandbox controls waypoints/traffic. Up to four-player co-op enables sector division and cross-checking. Workshop, editor and altitude/wind mods extend content. Intel and Apple processors are officially supported, requirements are light, and all five languages have official interface/subtitles.
Cons
- This is accessible real-time management/puzzle design, not full radar procedures, radio phraseology or regulatory ATC training. At peaks, simultaneous alerts and a tiny route misclick can cascade into collisions. Hardcore cannot pause, increasing trackpad/reaction pressure. Random upgrades may not offer the map’s needed tool. Co-op depends on broadband/host state, while mismatched Workshop maps/mods cause join or sync issues. Official specs provide only a minimum, with no recommended or detailed Intel/Apple performance tiers. The 1 GB requirement is close to the site’s 1.01 GB archive, but extraction still needs headroom. Altitude/wind depth comes from mods rather than base rules.
Installation steps
- This page covers Mini Airways 1.2.8. Official Mac minimums are macOS 12+, Intel or Apple processor, 2 GB RAM, 1366×768, post-2012 graphics, broadband and 1 GB storage; the site package is about 1.01 GB. Back up Steam Cloud, map unlocks, highscores, airport upgrades, settings, authored/subscribed maps, mods and 1.2.8/SHA-256. In a clean Classic day, clear takeoff, route aircraft, sequence approaches, land and resolve one crossing conflict. After the day, test auto-holding, faster turns, larger airspace or waypoint upgrades. Then test Hardcore without pause and Sandbox waypoint/landing intensity. Online co-op players should match builds and Workshop maps.
Uninstallation steps
- Before uninstalling, pause Classic/Sandbox and return after day-end; Hardcore cannot pause, so finish its run. Separately back up map unlocks, mode scores, daily upgrades, achievements, controls/display/language, editor projects, Workshop subscriptions, airspace/altitude/wind mods and 1.2.8/SHA-256; record map, runways, no-fly zones and upgrades. Do not clear user data with the app. Reinstall with Workshop off, complete one new London or Tokyo day and verify waypoints, takeoff/landing, conflict alerts, settlement, save and leaderboard, then restore maps/mods individually. Have the co-op host first test a standard unmodded map.
Common errors and fixes
- Collisions usually follow crossing routes, inadequate approach spacing, simultaneous runway operations or underestimated turn radius. Pause except in Hardcore, reroute or hold the conflicting aircraft, and avoid redrawing every flight at once. For congestion, sequence by landing urgency, layer waypoints/auto-holding and keep long routes away from runway thresholds. No-fly zones/mountains require larger turn margins. At peaks reduce unnecessary paths and upgrade airspace, turns or holding. Co-op desync requires matching 1.2.8, map/mods and host network. Blank map, tiny text or low FPS calls for macOS 12, 1366×768, post-2012 graphics and SHA-256 checks, with Workshop off. For leaderboard/cloud issues use a local copy. All five languages have official interface/subtitles.
What changed in this version
- The site version is 1.2.8. No public official itemized notes were found for that exact full build, so fixes are not invented and higher versions are excluded. Verifiable scope includes real-time takeoff/landing/routing, near misses, mountains/no-fly zones/peaks, daily upgrades (auto-holding, faster turns, expanded airspace, waypoints), 19 real-airport maps, Hudson River/Air Force One/emergency/priority events, Classic/Hardcore/Sandbox, up-to-four online co-op, Workshop maps, level editor and altitude/wind mods. Validate displayed 1.2.8, one Classic day, Hardcore without pause, Sandbox waypoints and a standard co-op map.
