Description
Easy Red 2 is the game for those who know just what they want from a World War 2 shooter: simulation in weapons and mechanics, historical accuracy in battles, and expansive maps leaving room for large-scale infantry and vehicle combat alike.
In this new version of Easy Red, we wrote everything from scratch to reach a quality of game mechanics and optimization to manage and graphical design that looks appealing yet also runs well on lower-end machines.
Fronts of War
In Easy Red 2, you will be taken to both the European and Pacific fronts of the war. On the European front, you will be taken to the shores of Anzio, Italy- working your way towards the bombed peaks of Monte Cassino. You will also be taken to Kos- the Greek island invaded by the Germans in 1943. In the Pacific, you will go to Kwajalein- the Japanese-occupied island invaded by the United States Marine Corps in 1944.
Simulation and Immersivity
That’s what we want for Easy Red 2. We want the player to feel a hint of the real emotions, thoughts, and sense of adrenaline rush of the battlefield. Around the player will be a fury of explosions, gunfire, devastation, orders, and yells from those around them. The player will be rewarded not for his kills obtained, but for his strategic prowess and survival skills on the field.
Large battles and historical locations
All campaigns take place in large open-world maps that are reproductions of the real locations of historical battles, with the plans and layout of the battles faithful to events that have historically occurred.
Squad-based Gameplay
No one fights alone. A good, hard-earned victory requires a good hardened team- so jump in as the squad leader, the medic, or maybe the radioman. You’ll always have a job to do within your squad.
In our levels, we particularly focused on creating dynamically occurring sub-objectives that differ from the main mission objectives. For example, while the main objective of the greater team may be to conquer a specif
Editor-checked details
Recommended for WWII shooting with squad tactics, vehicle crews and historical campaigns, offline or co-op. In a medium official mission, play rifleman, medic and leader, then test tank driver/gunner and aircraft; go online after learning orders. Minimum Intel hardware suits small low-detail fights. Ventura/M2/4 GB is official recommended, though 8 GB is practical. Safe order: editor/Workshop backup; 2.0.7.6/SHA-256; unmodded campaign; private cross-platform lobby; category restoration. Compare Ravenfield for lighter AI sandbox warfare, or a dedicated war strategy title for pure tactics.
Pros
- It emphasizes squad roles, orders, ammunition, medicine, vehicle crews and survival more than arcade kill counts. European/Pacific historical locations mix infantry, tanks, artillery and aircraft; destructible buildings and dynamic sub-objectives vary missions. You can take over squad members or vehicle stations, and crew loss removes real vehicle functions. Single-player supports offline campaigns; online PvP/co-op/cross-platform broadens play. Map/mission editor, SDK and Workshop can create/share full scenarios. Simplified Chinese and Japanese interfaces are official.
Cons
- Small-team production is less polished than a major WWII shooter in animation, voice, AI pathfinding, vehicles and UI; allies can stick or react slowly. Simulation pacing, lethality and roles may frustrate arcade-only players. Huge maps, destruction, artillery, aircraft and many soldiers stack load; ~1.5 GB is an extreme floor. Online quality depends on population and matching version/DLC/mods. Workshop/scripts add crash and compatibility risk. Korean and Traditional Chinese are not official languages; these editorial translations do not imply built-in support.
Installation steps
- This page covers Easy Red 2 2.0.7.6. Official Mac minimum: Catalina, Celeron G530/Athlon II X2 250, about 1.5 GB RAM, GT 710/R5 240, 1 GB VRAM and 10 GB storage. Recommended: Ventura, Core i3-2100, 4 GB, M2, 2 GB VRAM and 10 GB. Reserve 20 GB for DLC/maps/Workshop. Back up Steam Cloud, campaign, missions, bindings, graphics, squad/vehicle settings, map/mission-editor projects, Modding SDK work and Workshop IDs; record 2.0.7.6/SHA-256. Unmodded, test infantry, squad orders, medic/radio roles, tank crew, aircraft, destruction, single-player results and online join before custom content. Keep every player on 2.0.7.6.
Uninstallation steps
- Before uninstalling, finish the mission, return to menu, save campaign/editor projects and wait for Steam Cloud. Separately back up campaign/missions, maps/scenes, mission scripts, Modding SDK sources, Workshop IDs, server/lobby settings, bindings, graphics and 2.0.7.6/SHA-256. Record dependency order for large maps/DLC. Do not remove creation folders with the app. Reinstall unmodded, complete infantry combat, drive one vehicle and reach a result in an official base campaign; then use a private lobby to validate cross-platform version before restoring maps, missions, vehicles/weapons and scripts in that order.
Common errors and fixes
- For launch/map crash, verify Catalina, 10 GB free, VRAM and SHA-256; disable all Workshop/DLC combinations and compare an official base map. For low FPS, first reduce soldiers, corpses, destruction, shadows, foliage and view distance; huge maps, artillery, tanks and aircraft stack CPU/GPU load. Start M2 at medium. For failed online join, align 2.0.7.6, cross-platform option, map/DLC/mod dependencies, firewall and NAT. If squad will not follow, confirm leadership, reachable order and vehicle seats. Missing tank functions may mean the responsible crew member died. Copy editor projects before removing the newest script. Korean/Traditional Chinese are not official interfaces; this translation is not built-in support.
What changed in this version
- The site version is 2.0.7.6, but no public official itemized notes were found for that full number. Fixes, campaigns and weapons are not invented, and higher versions are excluded. Verifiable scope: European/Pacific WWII fronts; Anzio, Monte Cassino, Kos and Kwajalein; large destructible open maps; dynamic sub-objectives; leader/medic/radioman roles; infantry, tanks, artillery, aircraft and crew-dependent functions; single-player, online PvP/co-op/cross-platform; map/mission editor, Modding SDK and Workshop. Validate displayed 2.0.7.6, official campaign, vehicle crew, result and private-lobby join.
