With a little help from your uncle, you get an apartment and your first job. But then it’s up to you to achieve success and take over New York City any way you like.
Slowly build multiple small businesses, grow them into huge corporations, or carve your own unique path – the possibilities are limitless in this vast business sandbox. You’ve never played anything like this!
Go from a small apartment and public transport to luxury suites, fast cars and designer furniture. Put your money into investment funds and real estate. Succeed, fail, rebuild. But remember to take care of yourself, sleep and stay happy on your rise to the top.

Go from nothing to the most prominent tycoon in New York. Start a business, work smart, make it thrive and enjoy your life. How do you want to be successful? How far can you push it? How long can you make it last?
Start your own gift shop, supermarket, coffee shop, law firm, clothing store, liquor store, florist, and more. You decide what success is – whether it’s a single shop, a chain of fast-food restaurants, a huge corporation, or making millions developing websites.
Take out a loan, rent a building, design the logo, renovate the store, get stock, manage your money, hire staff, and build your infrastructure. Soon, you may have to start importing products from the harbour and distributing them through a network of warehouses.
A bigger business means managers. Hire HR Managers, Logistics Managers, and Purchasing Agents. They all need desks and computers, so you’ll need a fancy headquarters.
Need a delivery truck? Travel to a dealer and buy one. Need food? Go to a supermarket, but make sure you have a refrigerator at home. Big Ambitions is a life sim where your character has to physically interact with the world to survive and succeed.

First close a small loop: job/savings, one leased shop, one product category, checkout/restock, one employee, three profitable days—then loans, warehouse and second store. Intel Macs must meet dedicated-GPU/VRAM, 8 GB minimum and preferably 12 GB. Do not risk a main Apple-silicon save without validation. Safe order: dual backup; 0.11.3542/SHA-256; three no-Workshop days; one-store accounts; restore items individually. - It combines business management with a lived-in New York sandbox: personally lease, buy, carry, drive and furnish, then delegate through staff/managers, creating clear progression. Retail, food, professional and digital businesses can mix with chains, warehousing, distribution, HQ and assets. Footfall, rent, payroll, stock, price and location visibly interact. HR, logistics and purchasing agents shift late play from manual labour to organization design. All five target languages have official interfaces, plus Steam Cloud, Workshop and achievements.
Cons
- Early play repeats walking, driving, carrying, furnishing and restocking before automation. Sleep, hunger and happiness interrupt pure management, while traffic, parking and hours add friction. Multiple stores, HQ, warehouses and schedules create heavy UI/financial auditing. Early Access can alter balance, content and save formats; Workshop items can break. Mac specifications target older Intel plus dedicated graphics and provide no Apple-silicon guidance—M-series performance does not prove support. Recommended 8 GB dedicated VRAM excludes many Macs.

Official Mac minimum: Catalina, Intel i5-class, 8 GB RAM, dedicated GPU with 2 GB VRAM and 12 GB storage. Recommended: Intel i7, 12 GB and 8 GB dedicated VRAM. Reserve 25 GB. Back up Steam Cloud, character/company and autosaves, store layouts, schedules, HQ/warehouse/logistics, vehicles, investments and Workshop items; record 0.11.3542/SHA-256. On a new save test apartment/job/needs, lease, stock, checkout, employees and reload before importing the main save. No Apple-silicon tier exists; a dedicated-GPU requirement should not be assumed compatible with integrated Apple GPUs.
Uninstallation steps
- Before uninstalling, return home/safely indoors, finish moving/driving/trading, save manually and wait for Steam Cloud. Separately back up main/autosaves, companies, store/HQ/warehouse layouts, contracts/schedules, purchasing/logistics agents, stock, vehicles, property, investments, mods and 0.11.3542/SHA-256; record cash, loans, leases and game time. Do not delete user data with the app. Reinstall without Workshop items, load a copy, sleep across a day and verify needs, rent/payroll, restocking, shifts, deliveries and financial reports before restoring mods one at a time.
Common errors and fixes
- For black screen, launch crash or low FPS, verify Catalina, 8 GB, 12 GB free, SHA-256 and the hard 2 GB dedicated-GPU requirement; lower resolution, shadows, traffic/crowds and disable overlays. Rosetta does not replace a dedicated GPU on Apple silicon. For no customers, inspect opening hours, signage, checkout, shifts, pricing/stock and demographics. Failed restocking requires warehouse shelves, purchasing/logistics agents, vehicle/routes and capacity checks. Missing staff: commute, schedule, skill, satisfaction and workstation. For save faults, preserve a copy, disable Workshop and test autosave. Audit rent, payroll, imports, excess stock, loans and investments before overwriting a financially distressed save.

- The title/package identifies channel build 0.11.3542 Early Access, while the database version is empty and no public official itemized notes map exactly to that full build. Fixes are therefore not invented and higher-version content is excluded.
