Description
Place your Keep and start growing your kingdom by choosing your first Deck of buildings.
Strategically place your buildings to unlock more buildings, more draws, and new Keep upgrades to choose additional Decks that synergize well with what you already have. Each building benefits from different influences, be it other buildings and natural resources nearby, or the right biome to place it on.
Earn points by collecting as many positive influences as possible, but beware: there are also negative influences!
Watch your kingdom grow from a humble hamlet to a majestic metropolis and make sure that you always have a steady supply of points for your next draw to keep the game in motion.
Let yourself be captivated by the unique graphic style and the lovingly designed landscapes. Observe the birds, the bees and the citizens of your flourishing and idyllic kingdom while listening to our relaxing soundtrack.
In TerraScape, you define the tempo, so sit back, relax, and experience the cozy city puzzler vibe.
Combine buildings in special patterns to merge mighty complexes. These Merged Buildings are impressive structures that have stronger influences and can reward you with bonus points, extra cards or even trigger special effects! Find over a dozen Merged Buildings and utilize them to the fullest!
Multiplayer
Get into engaging multiplayer matches with your friends! Develop your own strategies and defeat the plans of your opponents in Versus mode. Editor-checked details
Recommended for players who enjoy calm Dorfromantik-like placement plus score-chain calculation. Begin with an understandable deck and reserve patterns around resources/biomes for merged buildings; do not block future positions for a small immediate gain. Near a draw threshold, prioritize reliable high-score placements. Use Puzzle Terra to learn influences before returning to Kingdom, and record seed/Keep choices for score runs. In co-op, assign planning and placement roles; in versus, read the target score first. Safe order: backup; 2.0.0.1/SHA-256; temporary Kingdom; long save; Puzzle/Creative; co-op/Workshop.
Pros
- It combines city-builder presentation with card-placement puzzles without logistics, citizen simulation, combat or 4X management, letting the player set the pace. Terrain/resources/neighbors create positive and negative influences; decks, draw thresholds, Keep upgrades and 15+ merged buildings create readable chains. 40+ buildings, Puzzle levels, scenarios, weekly challenges, leaderboards and seeded Kingdoms add replay value. Creative supports pure building, while up-to-four-player co-op optimizes together and versus races to target score. M1 and Intel are official, as are English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
Cons
- It is not a traditional city simulation: there are no production chains, citizen needs, traffic, war or free deck construction, so systemic-city players may find it abstract. Long-term play still revolves around adjacency scoring and maintaining draws; inspecting every tile on larger maps becomes tiring, and random draws limit perfect plans. High scores, weekly challenges and versus turn relaxation into optimization. Recommended 16 GB and stronger graphics are substantial for low-end Macs, and high Retina resolutions can reduce performance. Workshop quality/dependencies vary, Traditional Chinese UI is absent, and 2.0.0.1 has no verifiable itemized log.
Installation steps
- This page covers TerraScape 2.0.0.1. Steam’s Mac minimum is Big Sur 11+, Apple M1 or Intel Core i5, 4 GB RAM, M1 graphics or GTX 1060, 2 GB storage and 1920×1080. It recommends Apple M3/Intel i7, 16 GB, M2 graphics or RTX 2060, with 2560×1440 Retina as the recommended maximum. Back up Steam Cloud, Kingdom/Puzzle saves, unlocked decks, leaderboards, multiplayer rules, Workshop and editor projects, then record 2.0.0.1/SHA-256. First validate card draws, building influences, score, Keep upgrades and merged buildings in Kingdom, then Puzzle Terra, save/load and Creative, followed by four-player co-op/versus and one Workshop map.
Uninstallation steps
- Before uninstalling, finish the turn and return to the mode menu, then wait for Kingdom score, challenges, leaderboard, achievements and Steam Cloud. Save editor projects and a Workshop dependency list separately. Record seed, decks/Keep upgrades, merged buildings, score, Puzzle progress, 2.0.0.1/SHA-256 and Steam account. After reinstalling, compare cloud/local timestamps and duplicate the save before opening it. Validate building influence and persistence in a temporary Kingdom before loading the long save. A co-op host should notify players and save the shared Kingdom first; restore Workshop items one at a time.
Common errors and fixes
- For launch/map black screen, verify Big Sur 11+, 2.0.0.1, graphics and storage, lower Retina output to 1920×1080 and reduce effects. M1 is officially minimum; the channel’s Intel label does not negate it. If score/buildings disappear, stop, compare cloud/local timestamps and restore a copy before an empty save overwrites it. For unexpected score, expand positive/negative influence details and check biome, distance, neighbors, deck requirement and merged pattern. Multiplayer failure calls for matching version, Steam state, lobby mode/password, firewall and Workshop dependencies. Remove recent content and inspect missing objects for stuck Workshop/editor maps. Traditional Chinese UI is not official.
What changed in this version
- The channel build is 2.0.0.1. Accessible developer/Steam material does not map that four-part build to an independent itemized changelog, so changes from other patches, DLC or Workshop content are not misattributed. Acceptance covers Kingdom, Scenarios, 40+ Puzzle Terras, Weekly Challenges, Creative, up-to-four-player co-op/versus, 40+ buildings and 15+ merged buildings, Keep/deck unlocks, positive/negative influences, leaderboards, Cloud/achievements, Workshop/editor and save/load. Add only a developer log supplied with the build.
