Description
Netherworld Covenant is a dark fantasy 3D isometric action roguelike centered on precision combat and Soul Companion powers to deliver a hardcore, strategically rich experience.
Control the survivor of a catastrophic disaster, wielding the Nether Lantern—a forbidden artifact bridging the mortal realm and the netherworld—to forge pacts with the souls of deceased allies. Venture into procedurally generated labyrinths to challenge corrupted heroes and demonic lords.
The Beauty of Precision
Combat prioritizes tactical mastery over frenetic combos. Parry, dodge, and execute Ethereal Dash to evade attacks, then counter with lethal strikes. Every decision—timing, resource allocation, and positioning—deepens the strategic depth of encounters.
Bound by Souls, Empowered by the Dead
The Soul Companion system offers diverse combat strategies, featuring four distinct spectral allies: Swordsman, Ranger, Guardian, and Rogue. Harness their abilities to phase through obstacles, ambush foes from the netherworld, or evade fatal blows by shifting dimensions.
Corrupted Legends Await
Face bosses twisted by malevolent soul energy—fallen lords, once-noble knights, primordial demons, and entities lurking in the dimensional void.
Sanctuary at the Edge of Realms
At the borderland camp between worlds, gather spectral allies, forge weapons tainted with demonic blood, stockpile resources, and piece together the truth behind calamity through fragmented dialogues. Will you redeem your comrades’ souls or remain stuck between life and death?
“The Torch’s light reveals no path to salvation, only the shadow of a gamble: as spectral forces tear through demonic throats, the wielder’s name may yet become another epitaph on the Covenant Stone.”

Editor-checked details
Recommended for Hades-style isometric roguelike players who want more Soulslike parry, position and single-decision weight. For early runs, lock one class/weapon and learn only common wind-ups, parry windows and Ethereal Dash escape; do not combine high difficulty and complex builds immediately. Practice companions by role: Swordsman nearby, Ranger at range, Guardian for dangerous windows, Rogue for ambush. Back up at camp before comparing forge affixes and retain one stable weapon. Enter Boss Rush/Chaos only after story combat is reliable. Safe order: dual backup; 1.3.1/SHA-256; one fresh section; four companions; camp reload; Cloud; old save.
Pros
- Combat rewards timing, position and resources rather than long combo damage: parry, dodge and Ethereal Dash make reading/countering meaningful. Four Soul Companions are more than passive bonuses, phasing through obstacles, ambushing from the netherworld or covering lethal windows, changing how one weapon plays. Procedural labyrinths and roguelike builds vary drops, routes and risk, while the borderland camp supports forging, stockpiling and fragmented story. Multiple classes/weapons cover melee, ranged, magic and defense, with Boss Rush/Chaos and high difficulty as long goals. All five target languages have official interface/subtitles, and both Intel/Apple Silicon are explicit.
Cons
- Precision parries and punitive bosses demand timing; low FPS, latency or unfamiliar animations can cause repeated hits, so relaxed hack-and-slash players may find it harsh. Procedural generation cannot make every room, enemy and reward equally interesting, and repeat runs remain central. Death loss and retracing magnify experimentation cost; high difficulties suit mastered fundamentals. Four companions plus classes add energy, cooldown, affix and camp-upgrade information load. Official Mac GPU names are very old and hard to compare with modern integrated graphics; close background apps at the 8 GB minimum. The game contains frequent bloody combat, and its store disclosure says some promotional images used AI-generated bases with manual modification.
Installation steps
- This page covers Netherworld Covenant 1.3.1. Official Mac minimums are Mac OS X 10.12+, an Intel dual-core or Apple Silicon, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia 450 GTS/Radeon HD 5750-class graphics and 3 GB. Back up chapters, character/class, weapons, Nether Lantern, Soul Companions, camp upgrades, Blackstones, Boss Rush/Chaos, difficulty, achievements and Steam Cloud, then record 1.3.1/SHA-256. On a fresh save, clear one labyrinth section while testing attacks, parry, dodge, Ethereal Dash, execution and resource recovery. Summon Swordsman, Ranger, Guardian and Rogue in turn, test obstacle/netherworld movement, then forge at camp and reload.
Uninstallation steps
- Before uninstalling, finish combat, return to the borderland camp and wait for resource/Steam Cloud saving. Do not force-quit during boss death, soul pact, weapon forging, difficulty switch or chapter cinematics. Back up local/cloud separately, preserving class, weapon affixes, Soul Companions, Blackstones, camp unlocks, chapters, mode progress and 1.3.1/SHA-256. Reinstall with cloud off and use a fresh save to clear one room, parry/dodge and reload camp. Once input, damage, drops and saving work, copy old data back. Compare chapter, class, weapon, companions and resources before restoring cloud.
Common errors and fixes
- If parries keep failing, do not mash: read the wind-up and input once just before impact. Use dodge or Ethereal Dash on unknown attacks. Resource shortages often come from spending movement and companion skills on minor enemies; retain one escape. Swordsman pressures nearby, Ranger deals ranged damage, Guardian covers dangerous windows and Rogue ambushes, so switch by room/boss pattern. When blocked by an obstacle, verify the current soul power supports phasing and trigger the correct interaction point. Compare affixes before camp forging and never consume the only main weapon as material. Reduce shadows, particles and resolution for low FPS. Apple Silicon and Intel are official; older minimum-class GPUs should use low settings.
What changed in this version
- The site build is 1.3.1. No public official itemized notes were found matching the complete 1.3.1 number, so 1.3.0, 1.1.0 or launch content is not falsely presented as newly added by this patch, and higher versions are not disclosed. Verifiable current scope includes procedural labyrinths; precision parry/dodge/Ethereal Dash combat; Swordsman, Ranger, Guardian and Rogue Soul Companions; camp forging/resources; multiple classes/weapons; Boss Rush, Chaos Mode, Iron Crown Frenzy and Corruption Mode; complete chapters, Steam Cloud and achievements. Acceptance covers displayed 1.3.1, a labyrinth section, all four companions, camp save and mode menu.
