macOSOfficial minimum: macOS 14.5, Apple M1, 8 GB RAM, 20 GB storage and broadband (very-low/low). Recommended: current macOS, M3+, 16 GB and 20 GB (medium/high).
Apple SiliconRequired. M1 is the official low-settings floor; M3 or newer is recommended for medium/high settings.
Intel MacNot compatible
Why we recommend it

Recommended for auto-battler players who enjoy counters, economy and post-match analysis without real-time micro. In training, test three fixed roles first: front-line tanking, ranged damage and light screening. Observe range, targeting and paths before adding Techs/Anomalies. Use low settings and an FPS cap on M1/8 GB; M3/16 GB better suits medium/high and huge battles. Safe order: back up settings; record 1.11/SHA-256; training deployment/replay; Survival result; online last. Compare Phantom Brigade for pause-based single-player tactics or Teamfight Manager for a more traditional auto-battler.

Pros

  • Outcomes depend on reading formations, economy, counters and positioning rather than click speed. Swarms, marksmen, tanks, giants and air units create a readable counter web, while in-match Techs reshape one unit for different roles. 1v1, 2v2, four-player Brawl, Survival, co-op and changing rules offer varied pacing. The 1.11 Typhoon remake and Anomalies force fresh formation decisions. Automatic battles make deployment errors easy to review. All five target languages have official interface/subtitle support.

Cons

  • Automatic combat offers no real-time rescue after deployment, so early economy or positioning errors can snowball. Units, Techs, specialists, cards, Anomalies and seasonal balance create a steep learning curve; frequent changes age guides and replays. Multiplayer depends on servers, matchmaking and network, with limited offline scope during maintenance. Large 3D armies stress M1, which is officially only very-low/low; medium/high recommends M3/16 GB. The 8.5 GB package does not replace the 20 GB install/update requirement. Intel is unsupported for official Mac 1.11.

Installation steps

  1. This page covers Mechabellum 1.11. Official Mac minimum: macOS 14.5, Apple M1, 8 GB RAM, 20 GB storage and broadband, intended for very-low/low settings. Recommended: current macOS, M3+, 16 GB and 20 GB for medium/high. The site’s old “Intel” wording conflicts with the official requirement; judge 1.11 as Apple-silicon only. Reserve 30 GB. Back up Steam Cloud, account/rank, hangar tech trees, formation notes, controls and graphics settings; record 1.11/SHA-256. Validate deployment, upgrades, replay, effects and saves in training or Survival before online play. Keep all players on 1.11.

Uninstallation steps

  1. Before uninstalling, finish the match and wait for results, season progress and Steam Cloud. Back up local settings, replays, hangar tech choices, formation screenshots, controls and 1.11/SHA-256; account/rank is server-led, but retain the account identifier. Remove shaders/caches only when needed and do not delete cloud data simultaneously. Reinstall on M1+, macOS 14.5+ and confirm 1.11. Start low, test deployment, tech, replay and result processing in training, then restore graphics and online play gradually. Preserve both sides of any sync conflict.

Common errors and fixes

  1. For black screen, crash or low FPS, confirm M1+, macOS 14.5, 20 GB free and SHA-256. Start M1 at very-low/low; disable overlays and reduce shadows, unit effects and resolution. Cap FPS and close background apps for huge armies or four-player brawls. For matchmaking failure, verify 1.11, maintenance, broadband/NAT, firewall and VPN; use training to separate rendering from network faults. Preserve a copy before resetting formations/tech. Replays depend on matching version/balance data. Leave ample space for lengthy asset verification and do not force-quit updates.

What changed in this version

  1. Official 1.11 introduces Season 8, a Typhoon remake and new Anomalies. Typhoon moves from rare status into the core roster, loses its old Techs and is redefined as front-line chaff clear/anti-air with less snowballing. Battlefield Power Research and Experimental Death Knell are added; Anomaly combos last three hours instead of one. Death Knell joins four-player Brawl and Survival drops, while Survival enemy line-ups expand. Season rewards add frames, emotes, skins, avatar and medal, with changes to Smoke Bomb, Acid Blast and electromagnetic Battlefield Powers. Later 1.11 patches are excluded.
