Description
Haste is a high-speed third-person running game, set in a collapsing universe. Race through a variety of worlds, master your movement and use items and abilities to progress through each level before it falls apart around you.
The game consists of ten Shards, each featuring a collection of procedurally generated levels that must be completed without fail to unlock the next. You’ll encounter challenges and characters on your journey, seeking answers about what lies behind the destruction, and how to escape it!
FEATURES
• Third-person high-speed running gameplay
• 10 Shards, each featuring a collection of procedurally generated levels that must be completed without fail to advance to the next Shard
• 90+ Items that let you customize your build for each attempt to clear a Shard
• A story to explore and a lovable cast of characters to befriend
• Four spectacular biomes with several different variations
• 4 abilities to master and 4 different bosses to discover
• An unlockable endless mode
MASTER YOUR MOVEMENT
Mind-blowing speed is key and every landing counts! Hit the ground running (literally) and you’ll build up speed, but if you fumble it will cost you. You’ll need to think fast and keep track of your ever-changing surroundings to escape before the world crumbles beneath your feet.
ITEMS
In your run you’ll be able to collect Sparks to use in the shop levels to manifest items. Items help you customise your run, affecting speed, damage, luck, health and other variables.
PROCEDURAL WORLDS
Speed through procedurally generated levels as you make your way through each Shard, completing every level before you run out of lives to advance to the next. Gather items and experiment with builds to help you on your way. Your journey through the broken worlds will be unique to you as you try to outrun the apocalypse.
THE CREW
As Zoe, you’ll meet different characters to aid you on your journey, whether through wisdom, encouragement or items to assist you.
WHAT’S NEW
Editor-checked details
Recommended for players who enjoy Sonic-like speed, roguelite consecutive clears and using movement skill to offset random builds. Those unable to tolerate lost progress or sensitive to a rapid third-person camera should be cautious. Learn the sequence look ahead, dive early, match the slope, turn steadily before chasing shortcuts. Build health/forgiveness first, then add speed or damage. Quit once after every completed Shard to confirm saving; after unlocking Endless, perform a quit/relaunch test specifically on 1.11.c. Safe order: dual backup; 1.11.c/SHA-256; tutorial; full Shard; boss result; Endless save; multiplayer.
Pros
- The movement is readable but deep: matching each slope preserves speed, while route choice, look-ahead and mid-run correction directly improve results. Ten Shards use procedural levels where a failed life changes risk decisions; 90+ items differentiate speed, damage, luck, health and other builds. Four biomes, four abilities, four bosses, story characters and unlockable Endless mode provide clear short-, medium- and long-term goals. Friend play and friend-code crossplay broaden replayability. Official Mac tiers cover both Intel and Apple Silicon with the same 8-GB RAM floor.
Cons
- High speed demands stable frame pacing and precise landings; performance swings, input switching or a small mistake can end a long build and feel punishing. Procedural levels reuse related terrain/obstacle language, so long-term variety depends on builds and self-imposed goals. A Shard requires consecutive clears, and losing all lives can erase substantial progress, which does not suit pressure-free exploration. Ninety-plus items do not guarantee an ideal combination, so shop randomness affects outcomes. The Intel minimum is only described as a 2019 dual-core/Radeon Pro 560X and should use reduced effects in dense runs; the Apple-silicon tier has no detailed M1/M2/M3/M4 grading. Multiplayer still depends on network and matching builds.
Installation steps
- This page covers HASTE 1.11.c. Official Mac minimums are macOS Mojave 10.14, a dual-core 2019 Intel Mac, 8 GB RAM, Radeon Pro 560X and 4 GB storage; the recommendation is macOS Big Sur 11, 2020 Apple Silicon, 8 GB RAM and 6 GB storage. Both tiers require 64-bit. Back up story/character unlocks, Shard progress, Endless Shard saves, item discoveries, achievements, controls and graphics, then record 1.11.c/SHA-256. With competing input devices disconnected, finish the tutorial and validate running, jumping, diving and speed-preserving landings. Then complete a procedural level set, choose a shop item, lose/recover a life and confirm Shard saving. Endless progress must remain after quitting and reopening.
Uninstallation steps
- Before removal, quit from the Shard map or a safe Endless node after the save indicator clears; never force-quit during a landing, portal, boss result or collapsing level. Separately back up all ten Shards, Endless progress, relationships/story, 90+ item discoveries/build notes, four abilities, achievements, multiplayer friend codes, controls and graphics, retaining 1.11.c/SHA-256. Do not clear cloud and local copies together. Reinstall with cloud sync off and validate tutorial, landing detection, portal, map choice and saving on a fresh game. Then use a copied old save to confirm Endless resumes; restore cloud only after nodes and lives are correct.
Common errors and fixes
- A sudden speed loss usually follows a steep landing angle, uphill contact or an early dive. Practice terrain-matching landings on broad descents, keep directional input steady and avoid a hard turn at contact. After repeated failures, revise route/landing points before changing the build; do not stack only top speed, and prioritize health, forgiveness and recovery when lives are scarce. If Endless fails to save, confirm 1.11.c and quit normally from a safe node—the exact patch restores Endless Shard saves. An unselectable map node after a boss is an older issue; stay on 1.11.c and finish the result UI. If controller and mouse/keyboard fight for input, keep one device and reset bindings. Low FPS harms landing rhythm, so reduce resolution, shadows and effects; use conservative settings on Intel/Radeon 560X. Multiplayer requires matching 1.11.c, region and friend code.
What changed in this version
- Official patch 1.11.c has one focused but critical fix: saves work in the Endless Shard again. Acceptance must go beyond the menu build string: enter an unlocked Endless run, complete at least one node, quit from a safe state, relaunch and confirm node, build and progress remain. Site build 1.11.c also includes the preceding series’ fixes for an unselectable map node after quitting following a boss, selected achievement triggers and Jumper 3 music. However, the new 1.11.c delta is stated strictly as Endless-save restoration, and content above the site build is excluded.
