Why we recommend it

Recommended for friends who want relaxed conversation with occasional angle/route mastery. Learn aim and power on official courses with ball collision off, then enable collision or join large rooms. Plan the second bounce after landing, not only the first ramp. For Workshop maps, prefer recent updates, declared dependencies and useful feedback, and subscribe in small batches. Save dated editor copies and assets. Hosts should agree on timeout, reset, collision and stroke limit. Safe order: backup; 1.1.0.9/SHA-256; official map; private lobby; Workshop; editor.

Pros

  • Eight themed official courses provide a stable start, while thousands of Workshop maps and an editor with dynamic terrain, event logic and many objects add longevity. Mouse/controller direction and power are easy to understand, but slopes, rebounds, moving obstacles and risky lines retain skill. Solo, online PvP, split-screen, cross-platform, Remote Play Together and 30+ player gatherings cover many group sizes. Seasonal leaderboards/cosmetics create ongoing goals, and Cloud, Workshop, editor, achievements and Family Sharing are integrated. English, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese are official UI languages.

Cons

  • Fun depends heavily on companions and community-map quality. Public rooms can suffer latency, collision griefing, slow players or inconsistent rules, and very large lobbies wait longer. Workshop quality varies widely; missing assets or old scripts cause long loads/stalls, while the capable editor takes time to learn and optimize. Edge collisions and bounces can feel unpredictable. Mac recommendations still name Radeon Pro 5500M and provide no Apple-silicon matrix; the 15 GB requirement exceeds the channel package size. Traditional Chinese UI is absent, and 1.1.0.9 lacks a verifiable itemized public log.

Installation steps

  1. This page covers Golf It! 1.1.0.9. Steam’s Mac minimum is macOS 11, a 2 GHz processor, 4 GB RAM, Radeon Pro 5500M and 15 GB storage; 4 GHz/8 GB and broadband are recommended. Steam provides no Intel/Apple-silicon architecture matrix. Back up Steam Cloud, sensitivity/shot mode, cosmetics, leaderboard and achievements, subscribed Workshop maps and local editor projects, then record 1.1.0.9/SHA-256. First use an easy official course to validate aim, power, shot, camera, reset and scoring. Download one Workshop map, open the editor and save a project copy, then host a private lobby to test rules, collision and friend joining.

Uninstallation steps

  1. Before uninstalling, finish the hole and return to the lobby, then wait for scoring, leaderboard, cosmetic rewards, achievements and Steam Cloud. Save editor projects separately and export/back up assets; Workshop subscription alone is not a project backup. Record official/Workshop course list, lobby rules, controls, 1.1.0.9/SHA-256 and Steam account. After reinstalling, prevent automatic overwrite, compare cloud/local timestamps, and restore settings/project copies. Test an official course first and enable Workshop maps one at a time so a broken subscription cannot block diagnosis.

Common errors and fixes

  1. For black screen or rendering faults, verify macOS 11, 15 GB storage and graphics target, restart, remove recently subscribed Workshop maps, and lower resolution/shadows. Apple silicon is not officially guaranteed, so Rosetta is not assured. If shots do not register, check mouse capture, input mode, sensitivity and chat focus, reset bindings and test an official map. Friend join failure calls for matching 1.1.0.9, cross-platform/privacy, password, Steam online state, firewall and map subscriptions. A stuck Workshop map usually has missing/incompatible assets; unsubscribe, clear its cache and download again. Editor save failure needs folder permission, project name and free-space checks. Traditional Chinese UI is not official.

What changed in this version

  1. The site channel build is 1.1.0.9. The currently accessible Steam page does not expose an itemized developer changelog mapped to that four-part build, so content from other patches or community maps is not misattributed. Acceptance is limited to displayed version, eight official course entries, solo/online/split-screen/cross-platform menus, 30+ player lobby capability, leaderboard, controller, Steam Cloud/achievements, Workshop subscription, and editor objects/terrain/events/project saving. Add only a developer-supplied changelog if one accompanies the build.
