WHAT’S NEW
Version 1.5.1.0:
• Release notes are available here .
REQUIREMENTS
• Intel, 6
Editor-checked details
Recommended for players who enjoy 1990s rally atmosphere, short timed stages, car liveries and accessible handling with technical depth. Those needing hardcore realism, a complete wheel ecosystem or multiplayer racing should verify scope. Start with a stable CL/front-wheel-drive car, translate co-driver numbers into fixed braking points, and prioritize clean finishes before speed. Tune dead zone, steering sensitivity and assists per surface. With reduced earnings, buy the class you use before collecting every livery. Safe order: dual backup; 1.4.8.0/SHA-256; reset controls; CL stage; championship; new cars/suspension; Photo Mode; old save.
Pros
- Handling sits between arcade accessibility and rally discipline: newcomers can steer/drift quickly, while experienced drivers still manage braking, weight and throttle across gravel, snow, asphalt and elevation. Dry Crumbs, Holzberg, Revontuli, CL/RS/XR classes and championships provide clear progression. Co-drivers deliver notes and personality. Bodywork, paint, decals, colors and decorations are customizable, with Photo Mode for capture. Version 1.4.8’s Unity 6 move, visible suspension and three cars improve presentation/performance. Steam supports an Intel Mac tier, while App Store provides a separate M1+ channel.
Cons
- It favors speed and style rather than full tire-temperature, mechanical-damage and regulation simulation; hard-sim wheel users may find it simplified. Emotional co-driver lines add character but can become repetitive. Version 1.4.8 lowers Quick Race/championship rewards, invalidating old money-grind rates. The Unity 6 transition may require retuning old controller profiles, camera comfort and graphics. Steam’s Intel/GTX matrix is a traditional reference while App Store’s M1+ requirement differs; saves/purchases are not guaranteed across channels. The 4-GB floor suits lower settings, with 8 GB more stable.
Installation steps
- This page covers #DRIVE Rally 1.4.8.0. Steam Mac minimums are macOS 11, Intel Core i3 2.5-GHz equivalent, 4 GB RAM, GTX 650-class graphics and 5 GB storage; recommended is macOS 13, Intel i5 3.0 GHz, 8 GB, GTX 970-class and 5 GB. The App Store is a separate channel requiring macOS 14 and M1+. Back up championships, car unlocks/purchases, liveries, tuning, collectibles, leaderboards, controller and graphics, then record 1.4.8.0/SHA-256. On a fresh profile, use a CL car to finish the tutorial, co-driver calls, a timed stage and one championship, then validate RS/XR, Photo Mode and the three new cars.
Uninstallation steps
- Before removal, quit from stage results or the garage; do not force-quit during countdown, jump landing, ghost writing or championship payout. Separately back up career/championships, cars, currency, livery/color choices, body/decor customization, collectibles, photos, leaderboards, controller bindings and graphics, retaining 1.4.8.0/SHA-256. Never delete cloud and local copies together. Reinstall with cloud sync off, validate handling, co-driver audio, saving, garage and Photo Mode on a fresh profile, then continue from a copied old save. Restore sync only after cars and currency are correct.
Common errors and fixes
- If corners repeatedly end off-road, slow before turn-in, brake early on the co-driver number, and use smooth steering/progressive throttle on gravel or snow rather than full brake, lock and throttle together. After the Unity 6 transition, reset controller dead zones/sensitivity and remove old custom mappings. If camera sway or blur is uncomfortable, switch view and reduce Motion Blur; 1.4.8 refines behind-car blur and sway. Reset focal length/aperture for odd Photo Mode depth of field. For slow loads or low FPS, reduce resolution, shadows, vegetation and depth of field. Version 1.4.8 improves loading/FPS, but 4-GB/GTX 650 minimum hardware still needs conservative settings. Apparent wheel clipping calls for checking the new suspension geometry/wheel match. Lower earnings than old guides reflect Quick Race/Championship rebalance. Steam and App Store specs/saves are not assumed identical.
What changed in this version
- Site build 1.4.8.0 corresponds to official patch 1.4.8. PC and iOS migrate from Unity 2022 to Unity 6 for faster loading and improved FPS. Behind-car Motion Blur/sway and Photo Mode depth of field are refined. Every car gains visible suspension elements, with all wheels updated for the new suspension geometry. The Beep 1964, The Bender 1981 and The Bonnie 1975 join CL/RS/XR classes, each with six liveries and twelve color presets at 500 in-game credits. Quick Race and Championships award less currency after an economy rebalance. Acceptance covers this scope and excludes content above the site build.
