ChitChat

ChitChat is A Mac app wrapper around WhatsApp’s web client, WhatsApp Web.

 

Requires WhatsApp Web compatible device (ie. not an iPhone unfortunately, unless you’re jailbroken)

 

Allows you to receive notification center notifications for new messages, and adds some useful keyboard shortcuts:

• Start a new conversation ⌘N

• Search past conversations ⌘F

• Jump to your 1st .. 9th most recent converation ⌘1 .. ⌘9

• Scroll through your conversations ↑ and ↓

 

Feature Support

Most features of WhatsApp Web are currently supported, and support for the remainder is being actively developed:

• Text chat

• Attached media viewing

• Attached media downloading

• Notification center notifications

• Media uploading

• Media recording (using camera + mic.)

WHAT’S NEW

Version 1.5.0:

• Fixed a bug which prevented traffic light buttons from being shown after exiting full-screen mode

• Fixed issue which prevented WhatsApp Web from loading in some cases on OS X 10.11

• Improved the menu-bar icon’s appearance in dark mode

• You can now double click on the window’s title bar to maximise/shrink it
